She died

SittonJ Jan 05, 2004 10:14 AM

I have sad news - my thayeri king that I got at the Chicago Oct.11th reptile show died over the holidays. She never ate for me and went to the vet several times who gave her meds and forcefed her. Only a month or so old when I got her, I don't think she had a chance. Can anyone out there recommend a breeder for getting a new thayeri - she was a nuevo leon pattern. I want someone with a good reputation that does not sell sick/dying animals.
Thanks

Try Dan Vermilya. He has some of the nicest Thayeri and Graybands I've ever seen.

Sorry to hear it man...there are some real scumbags out there who will sell you anythingto make a buck. It's a hard lesson to learn (if this is the first time it's happened) and once "bitten" it's hard to get taken a second time...at least that's how I learned.

I used to have a Nuevo Leon phase Grayband - they aren't easy to raise anyway, at least compared to other Lampro. but are cool little snakes.

Sorry to hear it.

Thats a shame, Thayeri can be hard to get feeding when they're hatchlings. However once they get going they can be great feeders that never refuse a meal. Vivid Reptiles and Dan Vermilya have the best Thayeri as far as I have ever seen. If you want a snake thats downright hard to kill try a Brooksi, Black King or Cal King. Some of the Milks can be little pigs too. This time of year just about anything should be well started with several meals in them and that is a good thing for you. I would also recommend Don Shores who posts on the classifieds, he has lots of nice stuff as well as Brandon who answered your post is known for his nice Brooksi. Good luck on your search for a new snake. Tom
