Too much calcium?? kinda long

Sam-N-Ella Jan 05, 2004 10:31 AM

Is it possible to give Iggs. too much calcium supplement? I sprinkle it on like salt( like a lot of salt). It is really visible, but they eat it like they don't mind. I read posts where some Iggs refuse to eat if there is a supplement on their food. I also put nutra grow on their food, and they don't mind that either. In fact they will eat anything. Sam tried to eat the plate. I keep their food moist all day and if I see that it gets low I add more food. They will eat a whole plate(13"dia) piled 2 inches high of greens a day. One is less than a year old 26" long, and the other is 2 years old 34" long(he had lost part of tail a while back). Is that too much food or do they eat that much? Thanks
Brian

Toouch D3 is a problem. Iguanas in the first year, need lots of calcium, so I wouldnt worry too much about a baby, but adults on a good diet only need some multi-vitamin supplements on occasion.

Try to avoid calcium with D3 and that spray is worthless.

Thank you. The calcium supplement is a powder that is d3 free. At least that's what the bottle says. The bottle says that too much d3 is bad for them and a good diet will give them plenty of d3. Does this sound right. Thanks again for your reply.
