Veiled chameleon eggs

stevie16 Jan 05, 2004 04:48 PM

I was wondering how the best way to incubate veiled chameleon and panther chameleon eggs. I bought a hova bator incubator from reptile depot. I have heard though that the best way to incubate them is to put them in a dark closet and leave them at room temperature. Also how to I know when the vermiculite is moist enough to put the eggs in and will I need to add more moisture to the eggs as time passes.

As long as they are incubated in a container that is in a dark place (slightly above room temp..to a degree) they should be fine..

Keep an eye on the moisture of the substrate...pinch it with your fingers.. if you get a drop of water to leave your fingers.. then it is a bit too moist... if you feel dry substrate..then add a bit of water...

I hope that helps...
