Petacular Exotics in Antioch. Rich Spekner has a very extensive collection of exceptional Rhacodactlyus.
Greg
I called them today and they want $150 for sexable males. I know that LLL reptile in southern california sells them for around $50. that sounds a lot better to me, even with shipping. but i would rather not spend on shipping. so you see my dilemma.
so anyone who knows where in northern ca to get sexable males for less than $100, please post contact info.
thank you.
Call Petacular and ask to speak to Rich. You probably talked to one of his employees and they are not in a position to negotiate prices. You will have much better luck speaking directly with Rich. As for LLL selling adult males for $50, well, there is a mojor difference between those and anything you will get from Rich. Let me give you an example. If you contact LLL (nice guys by the way) and ask them what the $50 adult cresteds look like, you will most likely be dissapointed unless you are looking for a very plain animal. I have inquired of thier cresteds in the past and found the price goes up quickly if you are looking for animals that are not brown. Rich is known for producing exceptional Rhacodactylus geckos and his name is mentioned several times in the new Rhac book. I am in no way trying to disuade you from purchasing from LLL. But consider the shipping costs and the downside of not being able to choose your animal in person. Those two things alone would make me want to drive to Antioch and hand pick a great animal directly from the breeder. The bottom line is that you get what you pay for.
