I feed my Eastern frozen bullfrog tadpoles which I purchase from the bait shop, along with scented mice (when he will accept them), and I am trying to include fish as well. Hope this helps.

What a great idea! I didn't think to check the bait store for such a thing. I ought to read this forum more often for tips. Here's a dumb question: Does anyone market a "toad in a bottle" scent or slurry? If so, does it work with eastern hognose? Thanks for your help.

Joan, I have frozen amphibians before, and after freezing, thawed them out, then put one (usually 2 large tadpoles) in with about the same amount of water. I use this "slurry" for scenting (trying to get my Easterns switched over to mice - I have had varying success). I just re-freeze it after I have used it.
