2 questions for breeders

randi Jan 05, 2004 05:44 PM

At what age do you sell your baby beardies?

I've seen pictures that show coloured dots on the base of the tail to be able to tell them apart. What is used for this marking? I have 9 hatchlings and 2 are sold. The people are coming over to pick which ones they want. They won't be going home with them yet (see first question) but they want to pick them out.

Thanks,
Randi

I wait until they are 8 weeks to give them the best chance at survival, some people sell them right out of the egg. Of course they have a much lower survival rate

You can use sharpie markers or non toxic paint

I sell mine at 8 weeks for local sales and more like 10 weeks if shipping, as Bennett said, much lower mortality rate after that age. I mark mine with childrens non-toxic fingernail polish.
