I sent an e-mail to Garrick DeMeyer of crestedgecko.com on Saturday to inquire about a couple of leos, but have not yet gotten a response from him! Does anyone know if he's out of town or something or if he just doesn't check the e-mails very often?

I don't know what he does for a living, but you'll find that many of us 'breeders'(I use that term lightly in my case - like, 'I breed therefore I am' ) have other 'real' jobs that take up our time. Very rarely are people so successful at raising reptiles that they can quit their day jobs, or in my case, my 24/7 job. So, it's not that he's trying to avoid you or something bad is up. He's probably just too busy to check email as much as some other people, so he puts his phone numbers up on his website.

thanks rob. I'm not really in any rush right now...honestly I just don't like to call people...lol I'll just wait patiently for my e-mail response like a good girl

I ran into a similar problem trying to contact VMS. For some reason, my hotmail account was blocking his replies. As soon as I sent him an email with an alternate email address I was able to recieve his reply at that address (btw I apologized for my earlier emails as he his replies never reached me). If you suspect this is the case, you may want to give him an alternate means of contacting you.

I did send him a second e-mail this morning...maybe his e-mail program is blocking my e-mails. I'll try sending him an e-mail from a different address...I feel bad e-mailing him so many times though if he's been getting them.

Business days are Monday-Friday, so really, that's like asking, I sent an inquiry today and haven't gotten a response yet. I'm sure he'll get back to you soon. You should never count weekends in response time.

Actually I honestly hadn't thought of that...lol A lot of the people I know do work on the weekend...and even those that don't still check e-mails and phone calls and such.

In between fishing and greeting people at WalMart, I'll be 'working' at my breeding business all the time. I joke about it now, and my wife doesn't like to hear it, but I think I'll make a go of reptile breeding as a business then.

I'd imagine that a majority of a reptile breeder's emails/orders come in on the weekend. However, this past weekend was a holiday weekend, so that could account for not getting a reply also.

I say it like I know him, but I really don't I just happened to speak with him on the phone when I ordered a pair. He's a great guy, just give him time and his animals are top notch too.
