Doc said she is definitely gravid. Saw no problem with her tongue so that is a mystery. The misaligned jaw may have always been that way, he is not concerned since everything in and around her mouth is A-OK!
She weighs 70 grams/2.5 oz. his scale is much more reliable than mine. Just out of curiosity, anyone else have female veiled around her age (just about 8 months)? What do they weigh? Sonia, do you know what Ohana weighs?
Umm...let's see...I think that was it - OH! He does NOT think there is any sign of MBD. He didn't do x-rays, etc. b/c he just didn't feel there was any reason for it (and the expense). Her grip is deadly so she has certainly not lost any strength!
I bundled her up and she was fine. We got about 4" of snow today but I had her in and out of the house and car quickly
We ended up going tonight not this morning, so I let her bask for awhile before lights out to to ward off any chill!
Well, at least I will know with future clutches what to look out for. She still has not begun to dig but she's set up for when she is ready

we don't get rid of them all at once. I rarely hear folks use the word pregnant for any herps and it seems that, like us Lep folks, the term gravid is interchangeable. I asked my entomology professor about the semantics and he said that although it is not a hard and fast "scientific" rule but when describing an ectotherm (cold-blooded) gravid is the norm. He agreed that this is due to the lifespan issue and that in the case of herps, they more often than not are bred.
