Besides the obvious issue of humidity control, what are your opinions on the advantages of "non-aquarium" housing?

Plastic tubs are easier to clean and are cheap. You can gradually increase the size of the tub as it grows. IMO snakes are less stessed in tubs that are not completely clear like an aquarium is. Once the animal is full grown a nice plastic cage can be purchased to diplay the animal. they have the same benefits as tubs.

this specific snake is partly for show and teaching and needs to be on display.

What sort of "plastic cage" for good display?

More sizes, easier to clean, better heat control, humidity as you stated, security, etc...

Are there easily available, reasonabley priced "non-aquarium" cages? and of what sort?
