I have a 10 month old female diego suarez and a almost 9 month old male... I am planning on breeding them here soon. I was wondering if anyone can give me any info on how I know when they will be receptive towards each other?? will she change colors or something? right now they have seen each other and HE will freak out a bit and start moving in real quick little movements like he is twitching his head and body.... should I wait a little longer before trying to get them together? any info at all would be really appreciated...

At 10 months you should be ok. Any younger than that you risk having problems. Breeding too young can cause many problems, such as, weak or deformed bones from loosing calcium to develope eggs. Becoming egg bound because their systems have not fully developed yet. We usually wait until they are at least 10 months old, sometimes longer. We give our females liquid calcium (vet supplied)before breeding, during and after to make sure their system can support being gravid.
