Self Mutilation question.

I have a beutiful female granite burm who i spend pleanty of time picking out based on temperment and color. i really like the way she looks. therefore i get very iritated when i feed her and she spends the next 10 minutes snagging her teeth on various parts of her body, sometimes to the point of drawing blood! last night when i fed her we had the worst time yet as she had her mouth wrapped entirely around her body compleately letting go of the rat. then her teeth were snagged so bad she had to struggle quite a bit to get herself loose from herself. is there a way to correect this type of behavior or is this normal?

Are you feeding it live? And its just missing it, or is she hitting it killing it and then moving to herself? How are you feeding it. I have heard snakes biting themselves but not all the time.

You have a docile, beautiful, retarded Burm with self esteem issues. Hehe....OK seriously...try feeding it F/T if your not already. I bet that fixes the problem. She has a really strong feeding response, which is great, you just want her to feed on rats, not herself. Feed her things that are not moving, and she should not be so aggressive.
