This is a snake I and another biologist, Dean A.'s friend - Mike Sisson - saw crossing the road in Stone, Co., MS. (southeastern Mississippi) last July.

I don't usually hold D'backs but this one was small enough (3') that it was a cinch holding it compared to trying to hold the head still of a large king!

We saved this guys life too - some drivers by wanted to wack it for its fangs/head...boneheads are just everywhere!.
