Lily freaked me out LOL

RedQuake Jan 06, 2004 01:58 PM

Last night i was watching TV, since i couldn't sleep....darn overnight shifts.........anyways... Lily out of the blue, freaked out HUGE!!! I heard something in her cage move, looked over to see her staring at me with her mouth WIDE open and flicking her tail back and forth slowly like a cat. Totally weird and freaky i tell ya!!!!!! She stayed like that for a few minutes then turned and walked back inbehind her humid hide all the while still flicking her tail.

I had already fed her about 2 hours before, and she ate everyone of the mealworms. I also checked her tank for something that could have upset her but i couldn't find anything. She has a habit of moving things around alot, her hides, papertowel roll and recently she'll pounce on the plants. I have found a few mealworms that escaped the bowl, even one beetle in Zoes tank but Lily's tank turned up free of escapees.....

I wish i could have snapped a pic cause she looked like a devil gecko with her mouth open and the look of contempt in her eyes.

Weird!!!!!!!!!!

I’ve never seen a leo threaten anyone or anything by opening their mouth wide. I’ve seen lots of pictures of tokay geckos doing this. Something must have really p1ssed her off! Hope she calms down, what a little tripper

A few of my geckos do the open mouth thing.....alot better than just up and biting like Nala does. Lily, however, has never done anything like this but theres a first time for everything i guess. I haven't been around much in the evenings so maybe she was upset that it was after 1am and the lights were still on.....who knows. I just think its kinda funny and weird to see behaviours like that lol.

. . . it would act all crazy. Someone had thrown him on a shelf in a pet store in a plastic bag - she was all skinny. Well, I took her, and built her up - but she was always a little nuts in her cage. Pretty tame, but would go nuts every now and then. Funny thing - I bred her a few years and most of her babies were nuts too - go figure . . .

There must be a nuts-gene or something. LOL
