What's the difference between a Yellow and a Green? (besides color)

snakesmitty Jan 06, 2004 03:07 PM

Hey everybody. I'm kinda new to this so if somebody could just help me out that'd be great. I've been surfing through all the other postings and just have one question. What are the differences between a male Green and a Yellow, because aren't they pretty much the same size (If there not then I'm sorry b/c like i said, i'm new to this)? Are there any differences in temperment or feeding or anything? I'm not really planning on getting one anytime soon, I'm 17 and my mom thinks I'm too young (I like to think that she's just too old but she does feed me so I guess i have to do what she says), I'm really just a curius snake guy.

Yellow's are alot "smaller" (14ft for a full-grown compared to up to 24ft for a Green)

Yellows have always been easier to handle for me and they are prettier to me than the greens too

Thanks for the info, but I was just wondering if there were any care, temperment, feeding, etc. differences between a male green (I really, really, really hope I am correct when I say this) that only grows to like 10-12 feet and a Yellow of either sex, male or female -- cause can't they both get up to that 10 foot area. Thanks again for your help though.

*I say "only" but I do realize that 10 feet of anaconda is one helluva lot of snake.

A FEMALE YELLOW WILL BE AROUND 10 FOOT, AND A MALE GREEN WILL ALSO BE IN THAT RANGE. AS FAR AS CARE AND FEEDING, NOT ANY DIFFERANT THAN ANYTHING ELSE. THERE ARE CARE SHEETS AVALIBLE FOR BOTH TYPES OF ANACONDAS AT NERD, HERE IS A LINK.
