how do they look?

fcwegnm0 Jan 06, 2004 03:33 PM

First time breeding, out of six eggs these two babies hatched.

They're obviously from different clutches and hatched about a month apart. For the little one I slowly upped the temp to about 90F (was at 82F) and she came out with MUCH more yellow. This is the first oldest one just after she hatched with my male:

And an old picture of my female:

I just wanted to her what everyone has to say about the babies.. any comments welcome. Dave

The pic with the male and the hatchlings prompts me to warn you- an adult gecko will often eat a hatchling. I recall someone on here reasonably recently who put a hatchling in with the adult just for a minute and before she could stop it the adult ate the baby. Congrats on your first successful hatches!

Yes, I can verify what Sarah is saying is true. I put a baby in a small container inside one of my cages. I did this until I could get a shelf wired with heat tape. I did not think the adults could get in. Within 8 hours she was gone. A lesson learned the hard way.

You can never have just one gecko. Actually it is almost impossible to have two
