Both of my 9 month olds lost there appetite and tested positive for cocidia and hook worms. Got rid of the worms but just finished (1 week ago) 2nd treatment with albon for cocidia. Have not had retested yet (vet said wait 1 month). The problem now is that I still cann't get either to eat and they are loosing a little weight. They completely ignore even their favorite foods. Have been using acidophliz but doesn't seem to help.

Any ideas how to get their apetites back?

Keep them well hydrated. The albon is tough on the kidneys. Keep up the acidophiliz, it takes a while for gut flora to get back to proper balance, and get the fecal done now. no need to wait that much if they still have it albon needs to continue or else the coccidia will just get back to previous levels. obviously cleaning is of the upmost importance. give them time and get a gram scale to watch their weight accurately.

I agree with grimdog. Albon is serious stuff that can cause severe dehydration in reptiles. The only thing that I can add to what grimdog said, is to use Pedialyte (instead of water) to help keep your beardie well hydrated. You can find it with baby supplies at most grocery & drug stores. "Bout $4-5 bucks a bottle, but very much worth it. Hope this helps.

yeah what i did the last outbreak was get a bottle of pedialyte, which bottle says is only good for 2 days after opening. so I froze them in ice cube trays. defrosted 1 or 2 a day. Then I would draw a some acidophiliz to the pedialyte. I then draw up the neccesary albon into a 3 cc syringe, then i fill the 3 cc syringe (for adults) with the pedialyte and acidophiliz. Give them the acidophiliz, fluid, and medicine all at once. Dragons tend to drink it pretty readily. The pedialyte causes the dragon to shed some water in its urine and ease the load on the kidneys.
