Can i put my snake on sand. I was Wondering because i have alot of play sand laying around for my bearded dragon and i like it used as a substrate for him i was wondering if it would be good for my ball python also?

******I feed all my animals in a seprate tank with no substrate

I used sand for my ball for a while and i would NEVER even think about using it again. Sand is a pain to clean and it gets everywhere. I would stick to newspaper or paper towels or something like that. Just my own experience.

I would think sand would dry the heck out of the snake without a lot of redeeming qualitys to it. Since BPs are sort of a higher humidity snake I think it is counter productive for the snake's needs.

Failure is not an option. It comes bundled with the software.

Sand is for beaches not for ball pythons.
Sand and cedar shavings should never be used as substrate. Sand can get underneath a snakes scales and cause irritation and skin problems. Cedar shavings contain cedar oil and can be fatal to snakes.
