can anyone tell me if its ok to keep diffrent kinds of tinctotius togeather?

also, ive heard that azureus are the same to care for as tinctorius, is this true?

In a 20gal 3-4 would be ok, but tinc females can fight and at times to the death, so you would want to get maybe a couple froglets or a pair. You could get more, but you might have to split them up after they are adults.

Mixing Tinc species would not be a good idea, and as then they could crossbreed.

For a lot of info please read some of the links on my site below.

The males will not fight, but crossbreeding is really looked down on in the hobby. People see these frogs as fragile creatures that may not be in the wild sometime in the future. So keeping them true means a lot. Everyone at first wants to mix them, including myself, but after you have some and see how they act and the way they act together keep them with the same species is a good idea.

No it is also not a good idea. Some other will chime in, in time. Anything else just adds a risk to not cheap frogs. Are you willing to pay $100-200 for some frogs to have them eaten by a gecko? Or damaged?

I'm looking into some geckos, but I can tell you if I get any they will be seperate.

With the tincs and many other darts, their natural habitat may be a relatively small area. Many of the tinc morphs are only found on one mountain or one side of a river or on only one side of a mountain between rivers and sandwitched between logging camps. So anyway, since the frog in nature is limited to such a small area, it would be harmfull to mix morphs because the bloodline would be dirtied. Down the road a few years someone starts breeding the hybred animal thinking it is true and after a decade or so 50% of that morph is not true and it no longer exists in the wild.... A few years later only small clusters of the true morph still remain in the collections of dedicated breeders.
morph guide to tincs. and also lots of info for each morph.
