You shouldn't use any bark chips, why not just use papertowels.
Bark chips give off a bothering smell to leos, create humidity, mold, and allow insects to burrow. Also impaction if the gecko eats a piece.

Just use a pepper towel, they're sanitary, non toxic, cost only pennies, and don't cause impactuion. If you want a naturalistic substrate slate or unglazed terra cotta tile is good.
