powersun uv heat bulb

fingersman Jun 04, 2003 09:20 PM

hey i was wondering if anyone here use the powersun uv heat bulb for their uro's , also if you do what temps do you get on your basking site with these bulbs, i can only get around 105 to 110 i guess maybe its cause it is a flood lamp and not a spot lamp, but i do notice more activity does everyone have this result also.

I use them in all my uro's cages.
I have had no problem maintaining 110 degree temps on the hot end.
Directly under the light 125-130 degrees on the piece of slate is normal.
This is checked with a lazer temperature sensor.
Cool end is less than 90degrees checked with a indoor / outdoor thermometer.
Heat is the byproduct of these lights. UVB is the more important benefit of these lights.

I also use them in all of my cages. On the basking rock itself, it gets over 125 degrees. The temp above the rock usually is around 110-120 depending upon what time of day it is. I bought the flood type to get better dispersion of the uva/uvb properties.
