Do boas darken with age?.....

RioBravoReptiles Jan 07, 2004 09:33 AM

.. yes they do.. isn't it awful! This 4-year old will have to be neutered so he won't pass on thoose ugly specks and dark tones.. Too bad, I had such high hopes for him when he was small. Still. I'll keep him, I've gotten attached.. SIGH.

I like that golden color. Reminds me of the boas I used to see when I was a kid -- many years ago.

.. I think if you still have a fascination with boas and other animals there is still a lot of kid in you yet. In all of us!

Absolutely!

My first pets at age 5 were two Texas horned lizards ("horned toads". That was in the early 60s. I'm still herping today. Can't outgrow my fascination for reptiles, and wouldn't want to.

I suspect that isn't the only one you decided to keep around because you've "gotten attached." It just shows that you love the animals on their own merits. I bet we can all relate to that. .
