Hi there I read your post about telling the difference between male and female fbt's. You mentioned that someone you work with is an expert in fbt's. So I have a few questions for you, if you know, or if you could ask him! (sorry to bother you if I am!!!)
Okay, first off, I have two fat toads, like bloated, and if they are the two main toads that get, well, humped you could say by the most obvious males in my tank. So, does that mean that they have eggs in them? And how exactly do toads mate? How long does the male ride on them for. Occasionally a male will hop on one of my females and make these chirping sounds, or a purring sound and it kinda looks like he is really trying his darndest to get something inside of her, but he never stays on for long, like maybe a minute or so.
So what is going on there? Are my males maybe not sexually mature yet?-it's like they are constantly trying to mate but I haven't seen any eggs yet. Oh, and one more question....Once the male does sucessfully mate with a female, how long does it take for her to lay her eggs, is it immediately, or what?
