Merry Christmas Again hehehe

RedQuake Jan 07, 2004 10:25 AM

For anyone out there that follows the orthodox calender and celebrates Christmas on the 6th and 7th of Jan,
MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

My mothers side of the family is Ukrainian and this time of year is one feast after another.....i'm still stuffed from last nights dinner hehehe and i have another one with all the family tonight......

I was hoping to have gotten my pay cheque earlier so i could go out and get gifts but alas i'll have to wait until Friday. My geckos will be receiving plenty as well. Two new tanks (20 gal long) for Dot and Abby, as well as a few new caves. I'm also going to send in a few films for developing so i'll have new pics posted next week

. . . I hope you have a wonderful celebration.

On Jan. 6th - we celebrate the visit of the Magi (aka, "We three kings of orient are, smoking on a rubber cigar. LOL). It's a pretty cool day that's sort of out of the loop for most people - since they are so holiday'ed' out with Christmas/New Years.

I like getting eggs and herp births on special holidays - makes them easy to name!!!

The celebration should be a good one tonight although i'm not fond of that side of the family. 27 years i have lived and still they cannot get my name right LOL (its spelt weird but still). I will not be receiving gifts this year....we decided not to exchange due to a bad ending of 2003 and the shortness of money. I do hope that next year i'll have presents from my geckos though. Now that would be an awesome Christmas gift. The gift of new life. WOOHOO!!! One thing we have neglected to do over the past few years is the tradition of Ukrainian decorated eggs. Its the only part of that side of me i do enjoy. I expect to be hammered about my love of geckos tonight....my aunt asked me to show my uncle one last time they were visiting and he freaked out....hehehe. It was funny but not something i would have done if i had known he'd react like that. My aunt is an evil lady LOL. I'm in the process of getting all decked out for this event, should take a pic since its one of the few times i actually do this......hehe. I wish you all the best

Why not have them call you "Red" too? That shouldn't be too hard to pronounce..... or maybe it is. I know nothing about Ukranian. (Proclaiming my ignorance)
