I am looking for a monitor that will not get over 3feet and can be tamed. I have 3 Green water dragons and one Aulstralain water dragon. if there is a type of monitor that could be cared for similarly I would like to know. A friend of mine has an adult Savador Varanus which I have had the pleasure to take care of but I dont have enough room for a giant like that. Any info would help.

To it youll ever get is an ACKIE. They dont exceed 30 inches, they can do alot less damage than any of the $5 imports (savannahs, niles), they have a better attitude on average than anything else you can pick, they can eat dusted crickets or lobster roaches their whole life, and the most important reason to get ackies is that you wont be putting pressure on wild populations by getting one because they ARE CAPTIVE BRED and BORN, few monitors are outside of Aussie species in this country and most CB monitors are WC, just a way of charging more. If you are looking for African or Asian species that are CBB then you will have to ask around the forums to get ideas as to whats available, believe very few of the adds in the classifieds although there are a few reputable businesses.
