Naturalistic Vivarium or Paper Towels?

julianhoffman Jan 07, 2004 01:04 PM

Just wanted to know if anybody keeps their small snakes in vivariums as described in Philippe de Vosjoli's book about Rough Green snakes. Or is it easier to use paper towel substrate with hide/humidity boxes? I've been using paper towels but wondering if my brown & red belly snakes would prefer something a little more natural.

I keep a natural terrarium but mostly just for aestetics. I have also kept many snakes (but have never tried storeria) on newsprint, paper towel and similir substrates and never seen any ill effects from it.

I keep my two brown snakes in a repti carpet setup (repti carpet as substrate) and they are happy and have lego hides that they absolutly love, they are both healthy and every once and i while i look in and i see them both with their heads out of the same hide, i have pictures and i may post them up later, it's kinda funny.
Later, Demon
