i really didn't think i'd be seeing these snakes so soon this year, but, then again, we have been getting alot of rain. i saw 3 last year late in the summer: 2 i caught and 1 DOR. unfortunately, i didn't have a digital camera. but, now i do! this snake was found in Pittsylvania County, Virginia - about an hour southeast of me. it was found under roofing metal and is rather feisty, probably because it is in shed. it's almost totally brown. the picture doesn't show it well, but there are the slightest traces of blotches down the back. i'll post another pic as soon as it sheds.

I never thought a brown Mole King could be an attractive snake. That's really a nice looking animal!
