New naturalistic terrarium set up

StarGecko Jan 07, 2004 01:49 PM

I finally brought this 20 gallon terrarium back into use, set up with primarily slate til as substrate, with a bit of calcisand in the potty area where the tile ran out. The geckos seem to love it. It was daytime when this pic was shot but at night I often see them pout climbking-the many hides double as climbing area. There's tons of hide spots, the abalone shells are set on a large terra cotta moist hide filled with damp moss. They have a water dish and seperate calcium dish, and mealie dish, all on the slate. There is a UTH under the slate and a low wattage UV lamp (for additional heat, the UTH didn't produce enough through the thick slate).
