I purchased this retic about 2 years ago. He eats 3 to 4 times a week. Well in two years he is only 5-6 ft. long but does not look like a dwarf. I am going to sell him but don't know what to sell him as. Can you help figure this out?

I have no idea exactly what kind of retic you have, but I purchased one that looked exactly like yours from a local pet shop about '92 as a hatchling. She was crazy aggressive. I bought a thick pair of leather gloves and handled her several times a day for a few weeks and she calmed down nicely. She actually turned into a rather nice show snake, but she just didn't grow. I had her about six years then sold her right before I got married. When I sold her, she was a very skinny 8 or 9 feet long. She was in perfect health, extremely well mannered and feeding very well on feathered food items (a rat gave her a nasty bite as a baby, and after that she would never touch anything with fur on it -- my mistake for feeding live, I know). She just never grew like other retics I had. Don't know if she could be classified as a dwarf or not, but she was small. That doesn't help you very much, I know. But mine was a beautiful snake, just small. Looked just like yours.

Well everyones have agruments about bali retics not being true dwarfs. But the high intense gold and bold black markings making me think that could be a bali. Some people may argue with me because the pattern isnt quite like msot balis, but I've seen many balis and the pattern of them is very varried form differnet animals. Maybe this is where the argument of balis being true dwarfs came from......This is jsut my guess but I'm startign to learn towards it.
