I hate USPS!!!!

StinaUIUC Jan 07, 2004 03:58 PM

The freakin' post office still hasn't delivered my gecko that was due by noon YESTERDAY!!!! I have called several times, the last time being about 10 minutes ago. The don't even have her there! The last information from their tracking system is that the package left san francisco around 5 on Monday! They're going to call me when the package gets in, but I'm afraid it'll be too late by then unless she's in a warm place (she has a 60 hour heat pack...but it will be past 60 hours tomorrow, and it's only 21 degrees out now...and its only 5 pm!). I am so unbelieveably angry right now...

I was wondering why you would even consider shipping USPS in the middle of winter - when they tell you they don't guarantee them over night. I'm not trying to be harsh at all - but during this time of year, if you ship at all - it should be with UPS or FedEx.

I've used USPS - but only in the Spring or Fall - when temps are just right for shipping and I don't have to worry about them being in transit for 72 hours.

I hope everything works OK - it probably will be - because usually when they are stuck - it's inside.

Let us know what happens. But remember - UPS . . .

I didn't decide how to ship it...but it wasn't this cold yesterday or before that...at least not here anyway, it just got cold last night. I ordered her from geckolandusa.com...and I figured he knew what he was doing...and usps actually does garauntee delivery by noon the next day if you ship express overnight...when I called yesterday the guy I talked to told me rick could file a claim for the shipping since it was delayed. If she doesn't make it they do insure up to a hundred dollars...she was a little over that...but at least there would be a majority reimbursement... anyway...I really hope she's ok

oh...btw...I'm not blaming rick for anything! I noticed it may sound that way from the last post...lol She would definitely have been fine had she arrived when she was supposed to...and probably this morning as well. It's not his fault the shipping got all screwed up somewhere along the line.

Never send anything USPS if it has a deadline! No matter what they say, they don't guarentee usps express/overnight to all locations. Heck I sent important letters USPS overnight and it took 3 DAYS! (no it wasn't priority either, that was taking 5 days)

Sorry, but if I was told a gecko was being shipped to me USPS, then the deal would be off. Just seen and heard to many horror stories about them.

The post office is going to call me when it gets there...which will hopefully be tomorrow morning....and hopefully not too late!

StinaUIUC Jan 07, 2004 06:32 PM

It wasn't my choice, I've never had a problem when shipping other things...usually things get here early!, and it wasn't so cold when she was shipped and when she was supposed to get here. Besides the fact that there's nothing that can be done about it now....so I'd really appreciate it if you could stop reaming me out for it... It's making me feel really bad about it...

When you ship or you have something shipped to you always check the weather in both states.I use and trust weather underground.com.Always request that UPS is used to ship live geckos.
