I have several groups of mice setup, but in this 1.2 group I found about 6 or 7 dead pinkies NOT EATEN simply dead along with the rest of them still alive (about 12 pinkies). Do you know what the problem is? This was not their first litter, they are established. One of the mothers was one of older two's young and I let her grow up to be part of the group to make it 1.2 so I thought maybe the newer mother might be the problem but she had perfect litters before this one. Please let me know so I can get this group back to production.

I've noticed that I get a few dead one's once in a while with a new mother. Some times they have trouble having their first litter. Next litter they should be ok. Although I did have one mouse that had a dead litter and the next time she was due to give birth she died. That was a pretty rare case though yours should do just fine next time.

I know what you mean, but this was not her first litter. It is I think her second litter.

One of my rats just had her second litter and I had a couple of babies that were stillborn or died shortly after. I think if the mother is young it's fairly common. As you go along it should stop happening.
