Problem with a sick gecko..

Insideoutsider13 Jan 07, 2004 06:52 PM

I haven't posted in a while and I have been looking at a sick gecko that I have taken in to get better and noticed a large internal black spot. I have heard that internal bleeding from impaction could be a cause, or a disease. I have witnessed this problem once before on an old gecko that I had. I am keeping the juvenile sick geckos in a fifteen gallon with all requirements met. I do not believe that the more sick gecko will make it through the next month but I am still curious of the large black spot on its stomach... Anyone have any ideas? One gecko is making a tremendous recovery and this one is still withering away... If he does pass away I would atleast like to know a cause of death for him.

Because of the thin skin on many juvies, the spleen will show up as a large black spot. This may be what you are seeing.
