I'm in the process of making 4 cages for my boas. They are going to be melamine bottoms and plywood sides, back and top with a drop down Plexiglas door. The cages are going to be 4'x2'x18" tall. All four are going to be stacked on each other. They are going to be kept in a room that is climate controlled (78 to 80 deg.)

What would be the best way to heat them. I know radiant heat panels would be best, but I'm to poor to pay $100.00 X 4

I was thinking about a bulb inside each cage with a bulb cage around it? Another option was Ultratherm heat pads. I just don't want to put anything on the floor if I don't have to without covering it some how (lots of liquid comes out of these guys).

Actually, you can get Big Apple's radiant heat panels. For that size cage you can use the 11" X 17" which cost around $27 each (last time I bought that size anyway). The only thing is you need to mount them to something first, which is very easy, and cheap. If you need more info about installing them let me know, I could post directions with a pic even.

ill start by saying ive heard alot of negative about these, and also that they work wonders if you mount that correctly. i would be interested in pics and directions.
