I have a trio of geyri I've had since last fall. Both females have laid clutches this year. The first female's didn't do well, she punctured most and I don't think I had the incubator hot enough for the few remaining. One of the cool things is I've never had to separate these three. The second female even laid her eggs on top of the male and other female! Talk about closeness!
Anyhow, I've been bringing them out to sun some this spring in the mild (80) degree weather, which in their tub heats up to 100-110 and their colors have really brightened up. I asked Doug Dix about it and he only suggested keeping them in the same cage and NOT switching back and forth to something else during the day and night as this would stress them. What I wondered though is about the humidity here in Arkansas. I don't keep a water bowl in with them and I know some people do with geyri. But they're getting more humidity outside here than they would ordinarily get. I often bring them into the garage at night, but that's still more humid than in the house. The bin is too large to carry into the house every night. Any comments? They've been doing this about a month and look good.
