Posted this Pic yesterday of my first gravid female...please read

I was just wondering if everyone agreed that she is indeed gravid. I know mostly by her size and lack of interest in feeding. She was a voracious feeder two months ago. The reason I wonder is because I was not intending on breeding her this year because she was barely six foot long. She is three years old, but I was going to wait.

She shed on nov. 1st and then shed again on Jan 1st. I never witnessed copulation and I never really identified ovulation with certainty. But she has definitely swelled quite noticeably without feeding.

Thanks for any suggestions, ideas, and observations.

Bob

.. that boa has a lot of the look of a gravid (pregnant) boa, and at 6' there should be little doubt the animal is large enough to breed. If she was mine, I had seen a male courting her and along with that look, was also acting like a pregnant boa I would be preparing for a litter..

One question.. if you didn't intend to breed her, how did she get pregnant? Here, it almost always requires some planning and effort to get it done and I want your secret!

Good Luck..

To be honest with you I put her in the cage where I was attempting another breeding which as of yet are inconclusive. The cage was used temporarily and the male showed more interest in this girl than my 8' monster female, not sure why but I let him continue to court her in the presence of the other female. As time went by he left the now presumably gravid boa alone and began courting the other one. Sorry if that sounds confusing but that is basically how it happened. It boils down to me running out of cage space, while I was building and setting up my other two cages.

Thanks for your reply.

I got her for almost nothing. She was VERY, VERY skinny. I feed her & with a lil' TLC, she got in good shape and is now gravid
She's almost 9ft. I hope she has a ton - o - babies.....LOL
