Neo-Calglucon dose

lele Jan 08, 2004 12:13 PM

Hi all,

I have an 8 month old female veiled chameleon who is gravid (not mated) and weighs 70 grams. My vet said to give her .07 N-Cg twice a day. Not to disagree with my vet, but that seems like a lot. Any opinions? I would also assume that I would not continue to use any calcium dust. She is not eating much so the dust is almost a moot point.

Thanks!

That is the dose for reptiles (1 ml/kg orally twice daily). Your Cham. weighs 0.07 kg so she would receive 0.07 ml. You do realize that this is 7/100ths of a ml. If you are using TB (tuberculin) syringe with a total volume of 1ml, that would be 7 of the tiny lines or less than the 0.1 mark on the top of your syringe, not to be confused with the 0.7 ml mark lower down on the syringe.
