Hybernating snake mystery

herpsaremylife Jan 08, 2004 02:01 PM

My friend lives in rancho cuckomunga. he found a hybernating snake in a hole in the ground near a tree. (we live in southern california) the snake was thin and about six inches long. it was forest green, orange underneath, and had eregular funky squares down its underside. and if its any help, it had a purple tounge. Please help me I.D. it, i am very interested. i thought it might be a ring-neck, but i dunno. Thanks in advance

Nick H.
