Question for NERD

toddbecker Jan 08, 2004 02:04 PM

I am inquiring about the killerbee Ball Python. It is created from breeding a bumblebee(a pastel spider) with another pastel and getting a spider that carries the homozygous appearance of the pastel correct. I am interested in this because I plan on starting a breeding facility next year and that is one of my many "long..very long" term goals. Also if I may ask here what is the going rate for a killerbee. If you can't answer this here you can e-mail me at
todd.becker@us.army.mil.
Thank you for your assistance, Todd

Army must be paying really good or you must have looted something to start a high end colony

No, the army pay reall, really sucks. We are actually paid below the poverty level and that is after I have been in for 12 years. I am starting my breeding initially focusing on all the retic and burm morphs and over the years expanding into the high end ball morphs. Probably won't be for another 5 years that I actually get into the Balls. I did read the NERD site but they didn't have any price on them. I am assuming they are keeping all for future breeding but Iwas just curious as to what they are proposing they will go for once they actually have some for sale. Todd

As you know by now, the Killer Bee Spider is in fact a Super Pastel Spider. We haven't even considered pricing them since we don't want to part with any right now...so I guess sticking even a hypothetical price tag on them would be premature at the moment.

Good luck with all your projects!!

Kara,
Thanks for the reply and I completely understand on why you are keeping all the killer bees you are creating. They are absolutley stunning animals. Hopefully someday in the next five years or so I will be able to compete with your establishment. Probably never with the quantity but hopefully with the quality. You have amazing and beautiful animals. Thanks again for the response. Todd
