Coconut Bark for bedding?

campdirector Jan 08, 2004 03:07 PM

Hey all,

Just wanted to know if anyone has ever used the compressed coconut Bark for bedding for hogs before? It says it is safe for reptiles but I have heard that one before!

Thanks,

Scott

One problem is it might be too damp. And when it dries out, it might be too dry and dusty. Aspen works fine though. Andy

Coconut bark is good for maintaining a higher humidity level. I've used it for roaches, geckos, etc. I would never use it for my hognose. Western hognose are a desert species. Use sani-chips, aspen, carefresh, etc. You want to provide a warm/hot dry environment.
