Personally, it's not that great of a show. I live approximately 2.5 hours away and have been twice, hoping it will get better. I was disappointed both times. I can't recall any big name breeders that were there. Most of the people there seemed to be locals with little or no knowledge of reptiles/amphibians. And there weren't very many "vendors" there at all (I'd say around 30 max). Some of the animals were very sickly looking and were covered in ticks and mites.
There were only two tables worth viewing. There was a couple there that had leopard geckos (probably close to a 100 of them) and they were all extremely healthy and fat and were gorgeous. And the other table was a guy who had several tarantulas/scopions that were very healthy. Both these tables were ran by people who were very knowledgeable about what they were selling.
The "coolest" and most expensive animal there was a young emerald tree boa being sold (for a whopping $650 and he was your normal northern not a basin). Pretty and healthy but expensive nonetheless.
If you live fairly close to the show, I recommend going by to see what is available. It may have changed and become much better since it's been over a year since I was last there.
Wish they would improve it...more vendors, better/healthier animals, more knowledgeable people!
Let us know what it is like if you happen to go.
Just my honest opinion!
Thanks,
Michael
