About slate pieces

Noodle_Boy Jan 08, 2004 04:13 PM

I've heard a lot of you out there saying you use slate tiles as substrate with great success. However, I really would like to find a place where I can get assorted slate pieces in different shapes and sizes. Was wondering if anyone out there who knew of a store and/or website where I could find such things. Thanks.

do you mean in like just odd shapes or different patters on the slate tile or what. Like not normal square pieces cause they sell "designer" stuff that are meant for the floor but it would look cool in like an aquarium in a living room or something like that...the "designer" slate is just different patterns.

I recently saw a new product at Petsmart called "stack rock". It looked like pieces of flat rock to stack in different ways, but it was made of a light weight material, so it wouldn't hurt your lizard if it fell. I thought it was too high priced, though, $12.99 for a set.

I saw those too, on the Petsmart web site. Unfortunetly not alot of the stuff on the site is available up here in Canada and these rocks are one of them. For some reason i thought they snapped together for better safety but upon closer inspection of the product its not stated that they do.
