yeah i hear that. i just got one too about 3 weeks ago, the only problem is that they are pretty common where i'm from so its hard to resist getting another. my roomates and i started with just one king that we all chipped in on and now we're up to five snakes. i'm sick. i keep telling myself i don't need two snakes of the same kind because i don't plan on breeding them, then i tell myself that mexicans or easterns aren't the same so why not...lol

I had a large reptile collection before, close to 30 different snakes, some Beardies, Collareds, Leos, Cresteds, and a Savannah. Due to some unforseen marital problems I was forced to part with everything in my collection with the exception of the Leopard Geckos. It was heartbreaking but best for the animals as I was unable to properly care for them with what I was dealing with. Things have been resolved and I vowed (to myself) to keep my new collection small. With the large collection by the time I finished all the feeding and cleaning, there was no time left to handle or enjoy the animals. With my new smaller collection it's so much nicer. I first vowed that I'd only get ONE snake and that would be it. I picked a 7 foot Carpet Python. Awesome snake and I am thrilled with him. But I like to do public demos with my local Herp Club and sometimes it's just not practical to take him. So that gave me an excuse to get just ONE MORE snake, a small one this time. Now I have my big snake and my small snake. I don't need any more. But then I see all the different kinds and I want another one soooooo bad. I've deemed the TriColor to be my "dream" snake. If I ever have an opportunity to get one I won't turn it down. I was looking at Brians post below, he is working with Red Dusty Hognose snakes and has some nice pics on his site www.ChampionReptiles.com that I'm pondering asking him about. That's actually where I got my first upclose look at a Hognose. I was trying to decide between a Carpet Python and a Woma and since he had both it was a perfect place to go. After handling the Carpet and the Woma I was able to determine that the Carpet was the snake for me. He didn't have any for sale at the time so I bought one from someone else. Anyways, he had some great Hognose snakes (I thought they were het Piebald but could be mistaken) and I really enjoyed handling them. Good luck with your collection and finding another type of Hognose! I'll try to contain myself but make no promises
