Got my crested, have a question

Kati33 Jan 08, 2004 07:30 PM

So I got my little baby today, I'm calling it a "he" for now, even though it is only 2-3 inches so its too early to tell for sure! I put him in his tank (an upright 10 gallon) and he spent aobut 15 minutes inspecting the screen and then went right down to the food bowl and ate a bit of baby food! I didn't think he would eat so soon, but put it in there just in case he was hungary. He was kinda hard to get in the tank as he didn't want to get off my hand, hopefully he'll still love me that much after he adjusts to his new house.

So anyways, my question-
How often should I suppliment with calcium? I'm going with feeding babyfood mixed with crested gecko diet every other day and crickets once a week. Should I just dust the crickets or mix the calcium in with the soft food once in awhile?

I love this little guy!

There really isn't a need to mix the crested diet with baby food. I use it straight up mixed with two parts water. It is also has plenty of cacium and D3. If you are feeding it every other day no other calcium is really required. I have used the diet with all my crested for about a year now and am very pleased with the results.
