Question for the experts about breeding a snow corn.

kottonmouthking Jun 05, 2003 01:31 AM

Hi. I don't really get into corn snakes but I've seen some people recite what morphs produce when bred to other morphs like they were implanted with a microchip. I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions what I should breed an adult female snow to? Or if you could, tell me what would be the outcome of breeding her to a few others. Of course not considering what they might possibly be het for. I was wondering about ghosts, butters, crimsons, bloodreds and even okeetees. I know okeetees are more like they're own subspecies and not a morph but they're one of the ones I find more attractive. Thanks alot for anyone's ideas.

If bred to ______(and neither is het for anything)you will get

ghost-all Anery A's het amel and hypo
butter- all amels het caramel and anery A
crimson-Normals het hypo snow
bloodred- normals het bloodred snow but some offspring may show the bloodred influence
okeetees-Normals het snow

a few others i would suggest as a possibility

snow-snows
snow motley(or stripe)- snows het motley or stripe
amel motley-amels het anery A and motley
Anery A motley- anery A's het amel and motley

Those are just a few options and there are many more

I bred my snow of unknown origin, to my okeetee (who I really think has VERY reduced black, and bluish belly checks, so he could be hypo, or het, or neither I just call him normal myself.

But here's mom (snow)

and dad (okeetee)

And here's a couple of the babies they gave me

all the babies turned out "normal" and all are het for snow (anery and amel) so in a couple years, when one of the boys is old enough, I plan to breed him back to his mother, and eventually to a sister to see if there are any hidden hets in either parent. But I think these babies turned out beautiful
