Egg question

Sybella Jun 05, 2003 01:35 AM

I was just given 3 cornsnake eggs that have been incubated for about 4 weeks. They look good but I'm a little concerned about one. I drove to go get these and after a 3 hour car ride, one looks a little dented now. I think it just got a little dry and I'm hoping that it will puff back up now that it's back in the incubator.

However, I'm really worried that the motion may have hurt it. I'm a natural worrier already and I know I'll just have to wait it out and see what happens but...I thought I'd ask anyway. How hardy are corn eggs? I know they're not made to be jiggled around in a car for a few hours but do you guys with experience think I've killed them?

I forgot to add some details...No, I didn't turn them or anything of the sort. They stayed in their plastic container, on their slightly moistened substrate and inside an empty styrofoam cooler for the car ride. I kept checking them and none of them moved from the spot they were in, or turned in any way.

I think there is a high probability that your eggs are fine. I've transported eggs (not corn - bullsnake and racer eggs) by car and not had any problems.
