Breeding ACFs

Frogger1985 Jan 08, 2004 09:34 PM

I would like to breed my ACF. Does anyone have any tips? Are there any books or web sites that may have good information? I have found info online but I'm not sure if the info cam from a quality resource. I still need to buy a male, and I want to buy a mature male. My females are 2 1/2 and would like a mate. Does anyone know of a good place to get mature males? i plan on breeding them this spring if I have a male and they are ready.

Any information can help.

Thank You,

~Crissy

Make sure you have a male and female. The females grow larger than the males; this is the easiest way to tell em apart.
Then, just put the male and female together in a 20-gallon tank.
Mine mated, I think, as a result of me using slightly warmer water after a water change two weeks ago. The house had been cool before then, and the water temp went from about 70 to near 75. Now I am up to my eyeballs in tadpoles!
