egg laying?

shannan Jan 09, 2004 12:38 AM

I have two RES's and up until three days ago I was quite sure they were both males. Over the last few days one of my 'boys' has been trying to dig holes with 'his' rear legs on the glass sunning platform. Tonight I took 'him' out of the tank and put 'him' into a gravel tank (no water). 'He' promptly started digging a hole and has parked 'his' rear end in it and hasn't moved since. What do I do?

if your turtles are adults and they are males, the claws on their front feet will be 2-3 times longer than the ones on their back feet. Males look like they really need to have their nails trimmed, but dont do it. They use their long claws for things like tickling, and holding on to the females shell during the deed.
