The animal description in the signature

osmittyo Jan 09, 2004 08:30 AM

Ok, I've been looking all over for what the 1.0 or the .2 or 2.3 means in the signatures of everyones post. I can't seem to find the answer anywhere. I would imagine it is partly the quantity of some type, plus the sex or something.

So, I have one Bearded Dragon now. He is 5 years old. I also have a corn snake that is 2 years old. How would that look?

Ok, so this is a newby question, but it is the only way to learn!

every now and then this question comes up - we all had to ask at some point!

first # is male(s), second # is female(s) and third is unknown sex

so, I have one female veiled named Luna:
0.1 Veiled - Luna

Age is not part of the equation (but you can certainly add it if you want) so yours would read:

1.0 Beardie (or however you want to write it) - his name (if you want
1.0 Corn Snake (name if you want)

You didn't say if your snake is M or F. If it is a she...

0.1 Corn Snake....etc.

and there you have it!

When I joined my first chameleon forum (a long, long time ago), I didn't bother to ask. I just made up my own reason for the x.x

I think my conclusions was this: 1.4 indicated the quantitiy of animals that you owned. After the decimal meant that you had an animal that was still in development (eggs maybe?) and as time went on, your decimal increased until you had another animal.

That was young-Joe logic.
