Ball Python Breeding...

Just curious as to what are the chances of a female becoming gravid after just one witnessed copulation? I have a female that I witnessed copulating with a male only once. Every time after I put him in there with her, neither shows any interest and they don't copulate. I've heard of females not allowing a male to copulate with her once she is ovulating or gravid. My male keeps copulating with the other females, so I'm not sure what is up. What does everyone think the chances of her being gravid are? I didn't feel her for follicles and I haven't yet witnessed ovulation but I know sometimes it can be unnoticeable.

Anyone have any input? Has anyone ever had their snakes copulate once and the female become gravid?

Just wondering, thanks for the advice, tips or info.

It's certainly possible ... last season as an experiment, I paired a male with a female for exactly 12 hours. I witnessed copulation for about 4 hours and the female went on to produce fertile eggs.

Hope this helps.
