Shellac

i am building a "false floor"for my tegu because the like to burrow so its like a big burrow under the floor.i sealed it with shellac and i was wondering how long before it can go in the cage.the reason i used shellac is because my dad is a painter and he said it dries the quickest and it was a thick sealer.it did thisyesterday annd i left all the pieces outside over night to dry and air out.im getting the tegu today.can i put it in today???

Wait unitil you can't smell anything anymore before attempting to put the animal in there. (I would wait some time past even that actually as they will be much more sensitive to the outgassing that you are.)

i definately agree. i'd put a fan up to it just to help it dry out and i'd let it air out a day or two past the time where you cannot smell anything, just to be safe. be sure to give it a good wipe down also. goodluck and post some pictures when you're done.
