Got him!

My first ball came yesterday! He is a "normal" to you all, but awesome to me! I highly recommend Jungle Mist Reptiles! Steven was great... very friendly, and promptly answered any questions I had! Will definately do business with him again! We're letting him get settled in... can't WAIT to hold him though!

I agree with the thermostat comment.......it's critical you no the temp of you hot spot.

I would put the hide on the hot spot side of the enclosure. Put your water bowl on the cold side.

Also to minimize your undertank potential overheating....in the short run...I would put some newspaper over the heated tape area and then maybe some substrate on top of that. This will keep a barrier between the snake and the glass. It could be dangerous for your snake to have direct contact with that glass if it is to hot........thus creating burns.

Definitely persue a therostat control system, you may also persue a digital temp guage that also reads humidity. You can keep it located in that area to see what you environment is doing. It's always much more comfortable knowing that you have the right environment for your snake.

one way to post pictures, which i have used cause i don't know how to host them and all of that business, is to go up to the gallery link on the top of the whole homepage. then there is a link to upload the pictures and all you do is follow their instructions. then once uploaded you can go to make a normal post and there will be a choice at the bottom of the post to sellect an image from your gallery. only downside to this method is that you can only put one pic per post, but it's pretty easy to do and not time consuming.

hope this helps

I remember to this day when I got my first Ball, or even when I looked at my first ball python. I was talking with my wife last night....and you know what....I've been at this for awile and I'm just as excited now as I was then. They are great animals (regardless of normal or exotic)with so much potential on the horizon.

Congrats on you ball python......I totally can relate.
